MTV’S “BACK DOOR TO J-BAY”

The Jeffery’s Bay surf breaks are legendary, so Matt was awesomely stoked when commissioned to fly to South Africa to film the colour of the 2005 Billabong Pro event.

An 11-day assignment, “Back Door” was filmed with sponsorship by Billabong, and fronted by MTV’s Jason Dundas. From coverage of the Von Zipper wildcard draw, to the behind-the-scenes action of the event, there was never a dull moment.

When the swell flattened, the team simply indulged in the local attractions. Wild-game safaris in search of the “Big 5”, matched by Dundas’ fearless leap from the world’s tallest bungy (whilst Pro surfers cowered), and incredible displays of native dance.

Totally sick.
