Foxtel’s Area 51 commissioned DP Matthew GORMLY to capture a television & print campaign for the cable platform’s gaming space.

The 3 x 30sec tv spots feature one actor playing identical twins, settling their trivial differences via the channel’s casino and game features. It lead to some very comical moments, which was then mirrored via location playback.

The locked-down camera brought various shooting challenges, such as maintaining constant light levels and room ambience despite thunderstorms and emerging sun, the use of a smoke machine, television flicker, and inevitable furniture movements.

The corresponding print campaign’s stills were captured as the shoot’s fourth instalment.

A single day shoot, captured on Digital Betacam and Canon Digital SLR. Directed by Darren RALPH, with Sound by Jason WAGNER, Camera Assistant Patrick TANGNEY, Gaffer Finbarr COLLINS from GD Lighting.
